Speaking of '90s has-beens, Monica Naranjo is back! The Spanish singer performed "Make You Rock," a new song that WON'T be part of her upcoming and possibly last record Lubna, a "rock opera," in a Spanish show called Antena 3. The English-sung track uses the melody of Bronski Beat's "Small Town Boy" but, unlike Bronki Beat's awesome tune, Monica's song sounds, at best, like generic circuit party music:

Monica is still a very capable singer, but the whole wind-fans-on-my-face, overly-compressed-dance-pop thing is tired, played out, and stale. I mean, wasn't that, like, Cher's thing back in 1998? Or even Monica's own thing around that same time?

Oh Moni, you have fallen from grace. And to think your self-titled 1994 debut was one of the best Spanish-sung dance pop records in existence.
