Apparently some Latinas are taking their daughters -- some barely 6-years-old -- to get professional beauty salon treatments. WTF?

I'm blaming Latino mass media networks (I'm looking at you, Univision and Telemundo) and their fucked up sexist programming for this. They've managed to seep an unreal belief into the minds of these Latinas: That their children -- ones barely old enough to attend grade school -- should look like Sabado Gigante hos just as their receiving their first wet willy. Sorry but that's some bunk shit right there. Turning your 6-year-old daughter into a beauty-conscious princess at such a young age is not a good idea. That is, unless you're planning to pimp her off to Don Francisco as soon as she turns 16.

Look, it's bad enough that most women on Latino television -- even "serious" reporters like Maria Celeste -- regularly dress like they're getting ready to hit the club. Making your children image-conscious at such a young age will be like putting them through high school before they've had the chance to make their first macaroni picture.
