Peter Filiaci is the vice president of brand solutions for Univison and he recently conducted a grooming study which revealed that Latino men use basic grooming products -- such as soap and shampoo -- with the same frequency as other men. Yet, when it came to "non-basic" products, stuff like hair gel, Latino men outdid the rest by close to two-fold. In short, Latino men are a bunch of vanidosos who, not surprisingly, will spend their entire paycheck at The Body Shop before sending a piece of it to their baby mama. (Homegirl Aracely Arambula can probably write a book about this shit.)

The study, titled "Why Latinos Look So Good," says Latinos use hair-styling products an average of 3.4 times per week while non-Latino counterparts only indulge around 1.7 times per week. Need more numbers? Moisturizer usage: 3.7 vs. 2.0 times a week, fragrance 4.2 vs. 2.9.

Filiaci says he was already aware of most of these trends, but there were a few surprises:

"We knew these guys use these products – and heavily — but what we really didn't know was why. The big surprise was that these guys really celebrate vanidad — or vanity — over machismo … We found that that the word 'vanity' doesn't have a negative connotation to it with this consumer."

Yup, these cabrones are not ashamed of loving themselves so much.

But who are we kidding? We totally know this! Our "stars" couldn't be more telling. That's why we put together this gallery of our most well-known vanidosos:

And let's be honest: Latinas are no plain Janes either. But this study wasn't about them.

Your time in the sun will come, mijas.
