  I really dislike what she's done with her music and her image. Worst of all, I can't stand to listen to her songs in English. The lyrics are awful..for example that Mocha part, seriously???

  Shakira is a beautiful woman with a freaking awesome body. What's wrong with her wanting to flaunt it? If I had a body like that, I'd be strutting around in a bikini 99% of the day, even during winter. Plus, have you seen her man, who's ten years younger than her? She's just owning her ridiculous hotness. And Cindy, wasn't it you who wrote, "...we live in a society with a double standard against women. Women are discouraged from expressing their sexuality and if a woman is thought to enjoy sex too much, she is labeled as somehow immoral and unethical in every aspect of her life..." ? And so what if she's changed it up since the 90s? If she had stayed the same, she'd be criticized for being static and boring. Even though her newer music is kind of crappy, I'm sure almost everyone who's been on a dance floor in the past 10 years has found themselves getting down to at least one of her songs. (C'mon, La loba was hella catchy!) And yeah, she could have gone another way, but chances are that she wouldn't be one of the biggest pop stars in the world, if not the biggest - sexy, blond chicks sell a ton of records, that's nothing new. If you really want women with more substance to make it bigger, stop hating on Shakira, prove a point to record companies and start buying more Julieta Venegas/Anita Tijoux/Javiera Mena records or something.
