Estibalis Chávez, the 19 year old who staged a hunger strike outside the British Embassy in Mexico City for 16 days in February, has been turned away by British Immigration officials. Chávez was unsuccessful in obtaining an invitation to the wedding, but a lobbyist named Octavio Fitch Lazo was moved by her story and paid for her plane ticket to London. According to Fitch, she was denied entry to the country because she did not have enough money to for a safe place to stay for her three-week trip. It's beautiful to see the actions of revolutionary figures like Gandhi and César Chávez being emulated for such important things like the Royal Wedding.
